For your love*

*Do NOT read anything into this title. This song has been stuck in my mind and I like it so I'm sharing it with you. So there.

Last night at karaoke was crazy. And not just crazy with a lower case c. More like CRAZY with a crazy spelling like KRAAAAZZZZZIIIIEEEEE. The kind of crazy that makes you cringe and laugh at the same time.

Quick. Click on this link and go to Beth's website where she has her version of what happened last night along with pictures. Pictures are always fun (I need to get a smaller camera. I switched purses and it is not big enough to carry my camera in) and exciting.

Okay, you're back. Great. What did you think of that last picture? Pretty funny, huh? That Bryan. He's quite the character.

Last night at karaoke, many things happened.

1. Pete touched me (he gave me a very awkward high five in which I thought he was going to do a high five and it turned into one of those weird handshake kind of things that men do when they're trying to look either really, really cool or are making fun of other men who think they look really, really cool. So I'm not really sure what he was trying to do there but it was bad). Beth and I have done a fairly well job of avoiding eye contact with him but he was standing up and called my name when I was walking back to our table after singing something. I did refrain from cutting off my hand in horror but it was very close. As Beth says, I have Pete germs. Yuck. Hey! Maybe that's why I suddenly got sick last night/today? I blame Pete.

2. Insane drunken whores (not to be confused with Nikki and Nicole, the super classy whores) descended upon our lovely bar and made it, well, horrible and crowded and not much fun. Well, the last one isn't true. It was fun to make jokes about them and ever so subtly take pictures of them (which you saw already since you went to Beth's post already. Right?). Such as the girl I almost got into a bar fight with playing air guitar.

3. I almost got into a bar fight. Why? Because the girl in the pink who was playing the air guitar made a comment about Bryan that I didn't appreciate.

First of all, before I go on with the comment, let me just say that, as much as I am a karaoke junkie, I am not a prima donna karaoke junkie. Here's why (now with bullets!):

  • I don't expect to sing a certain amount of songs each night.
  • If I sing a duet with someone (which happens rarely), I don't get upset if that's consider both my turn and also the turn of the person singing with me. We're both singing. It's our turn. End of story.
  • If Bryan skips me, I do not sit there and sulk. I say "Hey, you skipped me." And then he says, "No, dork, you sing after Jason. Here is my list." And I say "Oops. Never mind."
  • I don't get super freakin' drunk (or come in pre-drunk) and then decide to hold the entire bar hostage by my horrible dancing which resembles being either possessed or stripping (or both, in some cases) and start pretending that I'm singing into the microphone stand and then fling the microphone stand towards the stage where it almost hits the person who is singing or nearly knock the monitor over so the person singing can't really sing anymore. Do you know why they can't sing anymore? Because they can't see the WORDS!
  • I don't get super freakin' drunk and do all the above things and then get pissed off when someone suggests to me that Hey, maybe all of these people who are here are not really amused by my childish behavior and that maybe I should just sit down and shut up. Or, hey, here's a better idea, leave!

More to come tomorrow. I am tired and must sleep.

For Your Love - The Nadas

When I look into your eyes I see
All the things and things and things that came and went before and
I'll be everything you want from me but more and
I'll go anywhere there is in this small world to go and
I'll do anything for you

For your love, for your love, for your love
For your love, for your love,
I'll do anything for your love
For your love, for your love, for your love

And then I'm walking down the street, and the earth meets my feet
And I walk up to your door, like I have many times before
I give it a knock, riggitty diggity tot,
riggitty diggity tot,
I give your door a knock yeah
I'm beggin you please,
I'm down on my knees, I'm here to appease
I'm beggin you please for your love,
I'll do anything for your love

For your love, for your love, for your love

When I look into your eyes I see
All the things and things and things that came and went before and
I'll be everything you want from me but more and
I'll go anywhere there is in this small world to go and
I'll do anything for you

For your love, for your love, for your love
For your love, for your love, I'll do anything for your love
For your love, for your love, for your love
